In what is sure to be a ‘magical mystery tour’ for all aboard, this November we will embark on some much anticipated dates with our good friends, John Grant and Jason Lytle (Grandaddy). We were lucky enough to be together for some shows in the US recently (see above where Jason inspires the troops) and can’t wait to be together again on the other side of the pond this time. In what was an amazing night of celebration, adoration, and tribute, that brought out the likes of Jimmy Page, Roger Daltrey, Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, and Phil Selway to name just a handful, Midlake was overjoyed to walk away with the ‘Best Live Act’ award. Here’s what MOJO’s editor-in-cheif, Phil Alexander had to say about the honor.

A wise man once said that its better to give than to receive. So, we decided to give something away…but first, we need to receive something from you of course (which maybe negates our purpose, but I digress). In the spirit of the flat stanley project and Amelie’s travelling gnome, we thought we’d hold a contest where fans take a picture of themselves in a place of their choosing holding our new album ‘The Courage of Others’ and send it in to us. The fan who’s photo most tickles our fancy, will win!
